who is kat?
That Darn Kat is the weblog of Kat French, aka coffeecupkat: a gen-x wife, mom, web copywriter, and general geek-of-all-trades. I’ve been writing seriously since my early teens, and have written everything from radio commercials to 200 page technical proposals to build weapons simulators (which is odd, in retrospect, considering I’m a pacifist). My current full-time job is writing for the web (and the opinions expressed here are my own, and don’t represent those of my employer or anyone else.)
I’m a follower of Christ. I am insatiably curious. I have two kids and a husband who I love desperately, and who I think suspect I’m from outer space. I collect coffee cups and obsess about coffee and tea. I enjoy poking around in people’s psyches and figuring out why they do stupid and/or heroically crazy stuff. I love all modern day myths and fables (including the ones that come from Hollywood and Madison Avenue). I am (as most creative folks are) somewhat organizationally challenged, but I’ve learned a lot of cool tricks and lifehacks for dealing with it. I like building ready-to-assemble furniture (but don’t tell my husband–he doesn’t need to know I’m the Empress of the Cam Bolt!)
